Sarah S. Velazquez
Sarah S. Velázquez is a writer and healer who arrives at her work with the intention of destigmatizing the human experience, one story at a time.
Many of Sarah's poetry and non-fiction prose have been published in publications like Pathos Literary Magazine, The Pacific Sentinel, and NBAP Literary Magazine. She served as the Associate Editor for The Pacific Sentinel, among other editorial positions, from 2021 to 2023.
Sarah writes a Substack column titled Wounded Healer,
that intimately follows a life lived in the hard truth of stigma, and in the blessing as an aenigma; guided by earth's laughter, medicinal herbs and flowers.
Here, you will find an abundance of impactful stories from the long, hard road that Sarah wandered for so long that she got lost. These are the stories of how she got found.
Sarah's upcoming manuscript, Materia Medica: Memoir of a Wounded Healer, will be ready to shop in Fall of 2025. If you are a publishing house or literary agent and are interested, contact Sarah directly at: ssammsvelazquez@gmail.com
In addition to her creative writing, Sarah is a folk herbalist, an avid hiker, a traveler of society's underbelly, a music nerd, and an art dabbler.

"Samm Bones epitomizes the strength, courage, and tenacity that is too often overlooked or undercelebrated in the sacred feminine. Her music is undeniably genuine and refreshingly raw - and indicative of the human ability and opportunity to overcome hardship through creative expression."-Erin Inglish Curator of Banjo Babes Comp & Calendar
